Village of New Haven Announces Launch of New Website and Video Content for Residents
The Village of New Haven has launched the redesign of its website, www.villagofnewhaven.org, to provide visitors, residents and businesses with even more relevant and easy-to-find information on the departments and services located within the municipality. The new website means that residents can now benefit from richer online content that is easier to navigate and share with others. This is a direct result of gaining valuable feedback from talking with residents and businesses within the village.
“Our website has always been an important way for us to share information about the resources in New Haven with residents and visitors alike,” said Chris Dilbert, Village of New Haven President. “The redesigned website has a new look and improved functionality to ensure an easier and more engaging experience and create a superior and informative user platform for our constituents. The development and creation of the new website has taken nearly a year to complete, but we feel the new application-driven content will help guide our residents to the information, events, and services they are seeking or requesting. We really are excited about what this means for the Village.” The revamped site features an updated look with enhanced features, including easier navigation, updated information on sites throughout Macomb County, and more search options. Created with the user experience firmly in mind, the website has been designed using the latest technology so that the site is compatible and responsive with today’s browsers, tablets, and mobile devices – without the need to download special software, or requiring a specific display size.
The new website also includes:
- Highlights from the Macomb County region
- Expanded, more comprehensive details about the Village’s services
- Improved overall usability; including responsiveness to mobile platforms including the ability to download the website as a smartphone app.
- Numerous resources for visitors and residents looking for information and activities in and around the Village and Macomb County
- A comprehensive viewing experience for Village Council and Planning Meetings.
- Immediate Emergency Alerts on the homepage to provide news and information faster to residents.
The News section features the latest announcements, and the events page is developed around a user friendly calendar platform. Furthermore, the new website allows users to share pages and content that interest them with others across facebook, twitter, Google+ and other social media sites. And it offers residents and interested parties alike the ability to subscribe to pages to get the latest updates and information as the site evolves. A special thanks to Joe Nagrant and his team at Revize (http://revize.com/) as well as Village employees Audrey Stuart and Lori Endres for their help in developing this website. The site will include extensive information to help residents understand the Village’s many departments and services. It also provides an opportunity to showcase the current media collaborations the Village has with the North East Macomb Cable Commission. Residents and visitors can now watch rich video content of council meetings, planning commission meetings, and events directly from the site.
